Soho is one of the most iconic places in London when it comes to dining out in London. One of my recent favourite delights is an Italian delicacy situated in Golden Square called Bancone.
There’s nothing more exquisite than eating wonderful pasta sitting around an ancient olive tree overlooking the bar and watching chefs at work making mouth-watering Italian dishes.
As appealing as the ambience of the restaurant sounds, the food is even more enticing and how could it not be, being a Michelin Star restaurant…One of the fundamental reasons why we included it in the Best Italian Restaurants in London.

Italian Menu
My friend and I began to endeavour into their set menu eating Burrata with roasted pumpkin and walnut along with Datterini tomato focaccia.
The Burrata had a freshness and buttery rich taste which made it heavenly due to its rich creamy texture and outer curd making it the most intensely cheesy dish one would ever indulge in.
The roasted pumpkin was an unusual but great touch along with the crunchy walnuts.
Our choice of ordering focaccia was the perfect addition to the Burrata, rich in olive oil with a soft chewy texture giving a fragrance of herbs, making it an excellent combination to get your appetite ready for all kinds of pasta.
Silk handkerchiefs pasta is usually popular in every Italian restaurant, and I had heard rave reviews for the one Bancone has to offer.
It comes with walnut butter and confit egg yolk with a very creamy and rich consistency, making you feel like you’re lost in your taste heaven with each bite.
The egg yolk mixed with the pasta makes it even more creamy in texture, giving a kick of salt to the pasta with crushed walnut, the perfect crunch addition.
You can call me a tad bit biased as being a K-drama buff since lockdown I tend to like adding egg yolk to every meal of mine be it ramen or even my pasta!
My friend opted for Tagliolini with truffle pasta and one can hardly go wrong with truffle. Bancone is known for Pasta and Prosecco, and it would be a crime to not try the prosecco as it pairs extremely well with the food.
If you’re searching for Bancone London Menu, you’ll enjoy the array of delicious Italian dishes.
Dessert at Bancone
Having stuffed ourselves with such divine starters and plates of great pasta rich in flavours after looking at the dessert menu and peeking at the neighbouring table, we couldn’t help but try the Limoncello semifreddo.
It arrived with crushed pistachio and raspberry sauce and looked fantastic.
We also tried a unique dessert that combined marinated pineapple in mango sauce with a hint of basil and amaretti. Both the desserts were a perfect culmination to a meal abundant in aromas and flavours.
My personal favourite was the pineapple mango combination making me wonder how come I have never come across this hit blend before?!
Expert Conclusion:
The restaurant is centrally located in Golden Square and easy to find, Bancone also has a branch in Covent Garden making it a perfect Italian spot to catch up with friends.
It has all the features of the Michelin Star restaurant, making it a perfect gift for your friends and family as they offer gift vouchers ranging from £50 for a meal for two to just monetary vouchers and more.
The option of private dining halls offering a feasting menu makes it an appealing option if you’re someone who is looking to host a large gathering or are a group of friends/family looking to avoid restaurant crowds due to Covid. All in all,
Bancone proves to be a true Italian delight with good portion sizes along with great prices despite being so centrally located in Soho.
If you’ve already been to the Soho restaurant and you’re looking to try Bancone Covent Garden then you can try their menu.
