The Mayfair Chippy in Northern London is great with its inexpensive menu and fish and chips specialties. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to find that kind of chippy.
For anyone who loves fish and chips as much as I do, the prospect of having a local chippy that offers excellent food at reasonable prices could make you disregard all other options in your neighbourhood to support this one restaurant.
We’ve written this article to offer you a brief look at Mayfair Chippy so you don’t miss it in London.

Atmosphere and Design
Inspired by Jamie Jones and Pete Taylor, The Mayfair Chippy is located on the northern outskirts of London’s neighbourhood.
The Mayfair Chippy has an AA Rosette and is recognised in the Michelin Guide 2016.
The restaurant is tiny yet cozy, featuring sea-themed artwork.
As a tribute to its origins, you’ll see high stools, white panelled walls, marble-topped tables, and a chequerboard floor.
It’s light and modern but with a traditional feel – a lovely blend that works nicely here.
There are still bottles of glass cruets and vinegar to reassure prospective diners that the desire for short-lived designer trends has not displaced uniqueness.
The Menu – Mayfair Chippy London
The Mayfair Chippy’s speciality is fish and chips, but they also serve other typical British cuisines, but the food here changes with the seasons.
They have a famous Shepherd’s Pie prepared with Braised Lamb Shoulder, a seasonal steak, and kidney pudding. It wouldn’t harm to try out its traditional Longhorn Rib Steak and Chips garnished with roast garlic, parsley butter, and anchovy.
There’s nothing quite like a homemade pudding fritter and its accompanying sauce in this town. It is a modern spin on an old favourite that is worth a try.
The Crab on Toast is a knockout, and it’s another signature dish loved by locals and tourists here. To begin a meal, this would be ideal with a glass of cold white wine.
And, when you thought you’d seen it all, this spot offers some classic touch to its menu. The main event includes the restaurant’s traditional fried cod or haddock cooked with mushy peas, tartar sauce, and chip-shop curry sauce.
The fish is juicy and not oily, and the sauces are delicious. Mushy peas with pulled ham hock are correct.
The Chip-shop Curry Sauce may sound weird, but chippy patrons will recognize it. It’s not a sauce for an Indian curry but rather a sweet, spicy gravy that has gained popularity in recent decades.
Wally’s shattered state will be a mystery to many. A complete pickle that has been battered and deep-fried is the name of this garnish, but let’s just say it.
Drinks and Desserts
The Mayfair Chippy has a beer and wine list, but a lovely cup of tea usually goes well with fish and chips at lunchtime. Starters are plentiful at this restaurant, and you may want to sample them all.
There is a good choice of desserts available here. Warm Chocolate Pudding is eye-catching, with a river of molten chocolate pooling over Salted Caramel Ice Cream (which might be a treat itself) and a generous dusting of Cinder Toffee.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Mayfair Chippy is an excellent restaurant for those who enjoy fresh seafood. The prices are pocket friendly, and the quality of the British food is excellent.
The service is also top-notch, and the atmosphere is perfect for a casual night out with friends. This spot comes highly recommended for anyone looking for a new seafood spot.
