Plants cascade from the rooftop, and floor-to-ceiling windows lead out to a terrace with some of East London’s most incredible views.

On the other hand, the table-turning was about as subtle as the décor.

Desserts, such as tiramisu and roast plums, were also great. Although the well-meaning service was not as prompt as promised, it remains a popular hangout for bankers and their clients.

The owners of this popular establishment decided to make some subtle improvements to the premises. This is why it is so popular amongst the locals, and even amongst certain tourists.

Tom Harris and Jon Rotheram, the joint owners and head chefs have taken inspiration from their previous experiences at St. John, Fifteen, and One Leicester Street to create a new and exciting menu.

Tempting appetizers include the house specialty, horseradish cream over beef and barley sandwich, and devilled crab on toast.

The fried salt hake and potato rissoles, however, stole the show with their delicately crisp exteriors and silky soft interiors.

Curried duck with tomato chutney and sourdough roti, for example, is a delicious departure from the standard gastropub fare. It has a fantastic texture and a deep flavor, making it memorable.

Dessert was a lovely brown butter and honey pie that was truly a work of culinary art.

Even if you are unable to secure a seating arrangement, the excellent bottled beers and must-try tap options will more than makeup for the inconvenience.

Try one of the Duchesse de Bourgogne’s crisp balsamic vinegar accents or one of the seasonal specialties.

10. Seabird

Seabird’s initial impressions? Relaxed, British atmosphere. Rooftop views are enticing, with the gleaming Shard close.

The menu includes a variety of dishes, including an octopus tentacle enveloped in a wonderfully cooked brioche bun with slices of spicy padrón pepper. 

Then, in a pool of oily, spicy bliss came a whole mackerel, deboned and flaky. The fish and the seasonings worked well together: smoky paprika, fresh chilli, and bits of mild garlic.

The Portuguese doughnut dessert was also delicious. Three dough balls were filled with citrusy vanilla custard and decorated with icing sugar, hazelnut, dark chocolate, sticky caramel, and salt flakes.

Being one of the fanciest rooftop bars in London, this spot is pricey, especially the little servings. Nonetheless, Seabird will not disappoint with superb fish and views of the metropolis.

The Rooftop at The Standard is one of the best rooftop bars in London, and it’s perfect for enjoying a summer evening. 

The cocktails here are creative, and the views of the city are simply stunning. So if you’re in for a romantic evening to enjoy a drink or two, this place is perfect.

12. The Boundary, Shoreditch

This provides a different perspective if you’re more acquainted with too-cool-for-school Redchurch Street from the people-watching pavement level.

We had two kinds of colourful mojitos, a halloumi gyro, a cauliflower gyro, and gyro fries from the Yiro stand, and everything came up to our expectations.

The ambience of the entire establishment links the experience together, making for a genuinely enjoyable and laid-back evening out.

You might be apprehensive about visiting Frank’s Café, which has recently reopened on the 10th floor of a multi-story parking park in Peckham.

The bar was created by Lettice Drake and Paloma Gormley, with excellent views of St Paul’s and a vantage point of Peckham street.

Richard Wentworth’s silvery metal paint trails slithering across the rooftop are only one example of the artwork embedded into the fabric of the structure.

It has delicate acoustic partitions constructed into the parking floor below, where pop-up performances take place against a stunning brutalist backdrop.

Frank’s Cafe is a must-visit for any cocktail lover visiting London. 

The menu features creative takes on classic cocktails, like the negroni sbagliato, and a selection of original drinks. 

The bartenders are excellent in their craft and are always happy to chat with guests about the best drinks to order.

16. ME London

The rather plain facade of Meliá’s upscale London offering reveals little about what’s within.

One hundred fifty-seven rooms and suites are arranged around a stunning marble atrium, with a huge rooftop bar providing great drinks to enjoy while admiring the London skyline.

It is located on the corner of the Strand and Aldwych, facing Somerset House. The stores of Covent Garden and Drury Lane are on one side, while the river is on the other.

Because of the hotel’s layout, most rooms enjoy one of these landscapes, while those in the front of its triangle construction see both.

The window glass is thick enough that the loud traffic outside is not a concern. Instead, the party atmosphere continues at STK, the multinational brand’s London offshoot.

There’s a large selection of steaks (starting at £29), sauces, and classic and innovative fish dishes like lemon sole ballotines with chorizo and cocoa beans.

It is never the best of ideas to start a meal with bread. But the restaurant’s blue-cheese-drenched brioche-style bread brought over is irresistible.

The mac and cheese (drenched with black truffle) are also delicious.

Hotel guests enjoy preferential seating at STK and Radio Rooftop with no need to reserve; this is especially useful at the latter, which may get quite packed during peak periods.

There is a separate elevator to get here; go for dinner or a drink (£16/17).

Breakfast is also offered from 7 to 11 am, with a variety of egg dishes ranging from granola and porridge for £7.

Aqua Nueva is located in the heart of central London, away from the rush and activity of Oxford Street, on the roof of the iconic former Dickins & Jones building.

The Aqua house has an entrance on Argyll Street, which also serves as the entrance to the Japanese-inspired Aqua Nueva and Kyoto.

When you exit the lift, you first see Aqua Kyoto, which may confuse first-time visitors, but guests are soon escorted through the hallway in the direction of Aqua Nueva.

You know you’ve arrived because there’s an enormous statue of a blue bull protecting Aqua Nueva’s entrance, looking as if it’s about to step out of the wall.

This is one of the food spots in London with a touch of elegance but a little dark ambience. It has a tunnel-shaped roof with tiled archways and a lot of crimson and gold.

Aqua Nueva is a stunning rooftop bar located in the heart of Soho. The views of the city are incredible, and the cocktails are even better.
