Top 10 Best Steak Restaurants In London 2022
Take a look at our list of the Top 10 best steak restaurants in London 2022 to find out where you should go for your next carnivorous meal.
1. Blacklock
Famous for its mouth-watering steaks, Blacklock is at the top of our list of the Best Restaurants In London.
Certainly, the Blacklock, with its emphasis on a welcoming and open setting, makes high-grade steak affordable and is great for exposing new foodies to the craft of good meat.
The restaurant’s own Cornish herd, maintained by butcher Philip Warren, supplies the restaurant’s own meat.
The entire animal method of cooking results in some seldom seen steaks on the menu, marinated for about two months as well as it is sold at unbeatable prices: Rump fillet for £14, Denver steak for £12.
The Blacklock Menu
The steaks at your newfound go-to meat shop are of excellent value, making Blacklock steakhouse one of the best steaks in London restaurants.
They have expertise in traditional grass-fed Texan cattle, which offer soft meat due to their inherently calm bearing and capacity to build muscle without accumulating excessive fat.
With a handful of delicious chips and some greens, this is the most classic steak meal around.
There are also pig belly buns, gravy boats at every elbow, as well as a pretty terrific white chocolate cheesecake.
In addition, on Sundays, a drinks tray serves Negronis and antiques served from carafes with roast dinners.
Their new Covent Garden location, Blacklock’s fourth and largest to date, feels a clear departure from the dive-bar ambiance of the Soho classic.
But what it appears to lack in authenticity it compensates for in discovering you can bring a second date here without having them turn away before they’ve even made it down the steps.
A fact to Know: This restaurant’s Soho location is a part of a popular growing food tour in London. Read more about it here.

2. Sophie’s Steakhouse, Soho
A tranquil dinner venue in Zone 1 (particularly between Soho and Piccadilly Circus) is a rare discovery.
Sophie’s Steakhouse is famous for its Pit Roast Aubergine and marbled, delicious steak.
This steakhouse’s excellent beef comes from London’s greatest butchers.
Furthermore, the menu includes a remarkable range of breeds ranging from Texan to Lincoln Reds.
The front porch is a plant-laden porch with jute garden chairs, and the main house is no less opulent, decked up in shining brass railings and Wes Anderson hues.
The outdoor cooking area at the back of the restaurant features a fire pit as its focal point, where hunks of meat (and the occasional pineapple) dangle, soaking up woodsmoke aromas until their time to shine.
In addition to the outstanding steaks, try the luscious mash topped with burned ends and sauces.
Their Centre Cut Fillet is guaranteed to get your party talking, and the majority of the menu is meant to share.
And the darkened cheesecake is so light that you can surely fit it in.
If the amazing steaks do not impress you, perhaps the exceptional service will.
It is definitely one of the Best Steak Restaurants In London.

3. Flat Iron
The actual location for this now nine-strong steak restaurant business is Beak Street, but Shoreditch is the first destination for quality cuts of Sirloin, Picanha, and rib-rye grilled over a 15ft timber hearth.
However, it is the steakhouse’s eponymous flat-iron steak that has made it famous.
While it is no longer the bargain £10 it was when Flat Iron first opened in Soho in 2012, £12 for steak remains one of the city’s most enticing cheap eats.
Cocktails and a slice of Valrhona rich chocolate pudding with a cookie crust will round out your dinner.
It is also one of the top quality, with the beef procured from the steakhouse’s own livestock in North Yorkshire.
Flat Iron Menu
Even though there are many delicious options, I highly recommend the T-bone steak. The smokey aroma is so enticing, that you might even eat the serving dish.
The lamb chops shine with just the right amount of fat: not too much, nor too little.
Expect to spend more for everything else, but with fries for £4, béarnaise and peppercorn dip for another £1, and free delicious homemade ice cream, you’ll still have change from a twenty-pound note.
Being quite affordable compared to some of the other restaurants on this list, Flat Iron is no doubt on our list of the best steak restaurants in London. It is also one of the best family steak restaurants in London.

4. M Threadneedle Street
M Threadneedle Street is known for having some of the most delicious and substantial steaks in town.
Martin Williams created this Square Mile restaurant in 2015 and became Gaucho’s CEO four years later.
One of London’s best steak restaurants, M, on the other hand, is a far more upscale beast, with Mike Reid’s menu featuring premium cuts of English, American, and Argentine steak, as well as Japanese Kobe beef.
Their steaks are always cooked to perfection.
Finest of all, it offers Australian Huntsman wagyu, which is coated in beeswax and matured onsite in a Himalayan salt chamber.
Beef this delicious actually doesn’t require much more than a sprinkle of salt, but since M is a steakhouse within walking distance of the Bank of England, finesse is one of the few things missing from the menu.
If you taste the lamb chops, your mouth will water simply thinking about them in the following several days.
You might have your steak topped with Maytag blue cheese or Malbec onions, with XO lettuce on the side and a bowl of black garlic aioli for dipping your fries, before finishing the afternoon at the wine tasting table or the whiskey lounge.
Still not enough blink? Charter M’s magnificent engine launch for a fuelled Thames cruise.
Though it offers a warm atmosphere, this is not one of those stuffy establishments.
The gathering is a mixed collection of regulars, visitors, and locals enjoying birthdays or anniversaries with six-pound cakes, so this is a fantastic pick for any occasion.
M’s environment is the primary reason we consider it one of the Best steak London restaurants.

5. Zelman Meats
In an attractive setting, international cuisine ranges from Argentine parrilla-grilled sirloins to preserved Jamon De Carne.
Zelman Meats was initially launched in Soho in 2016 and has now relocated to the fifth level of Harvey Nics.
The Zelman Plate, which includes a cut of every steak served at the restaurant for £35.00, is perhaps the finest option (350g)
It is also the best option if you’re going with a group because you get a little bit of everything.
And if you do get it, make sure you don’t miss out on the appetisers or the extras.
Some prefer it hot, as the saying goes. If you’re one of them, try one of their hot sauces with cheese and you’ll be in culinary bliss.
Another must-order appetiser is the Zelman wagyu burger, which is popular among locals.

6. Tramshed
Mark Hix’s lively Shoreditch business charms with a cuisine concentrated on steak and chicken.
The best part about this eateries is that not only is it a safe haven for hardcore carnivores, it is is equally enjoyable for historians and pipe historians!
How so? The secret lies in the ambience and palpable sense of the past that floats around this place.
Damien Hirst’s main hall installation is worth the journey.
The Tramshed is a bustling and elegant steakhouse in Shoreditch that serves tasty beef.
Most are supposed to be shared, with steaks on large boards and birds served upside down with their feet up.
The Tramshed has something for everyone, from a quarter kilo rib to a porterhouse the diameter of a size twelve shoe.
However, for those who value flavour over roughness in their steak, go for the latter.
The daily specials are definitely worth a look.
Sole is marinated in a tangy, buttery sauce and served with spinach gnocchi.
While diver scallops are encased in an aromatic chestnut sauce speckled with chilies, maize, and mushrooms.
Throw your coat on the side of your sofa, pull up your sleeves, and try to contain a dry-aged Porterhouse steak or devour their famed lamb chop in one session.

7. Beast
At Beast, excellent steaks served in this true steakhouse environment.
Dry-aged European breeds from Galicia in Spain, Arouquesa in Portugal, and the Lake District are dry-aged on location for 30-60 days.
Quality Wagyu and Kobe beef from Asia, USDA beef from Colorado, and MSA-graded steaks from Melbourne are among the international cuts available.
Everything is slow-cooked over a charcoal blend of chestnut, birch, oak, alder, and hazel, and presented in a softly-lit, industrial-chic subterranean restaurant concealed behind Oxford Street.
Their most famous steaks are however obtained directly from South America, where they specialise in producing thoroughbred Aberdeen Wagyu and Aberdeen Angus Cross cattle.
As a result, you get an extraordinarily soft piece of excellent beef that you can cook to your liking on their famous flaming hot steak rocks.
Beast Menu
They also have a special of Japanese Sakura Wagyu for £45.00/100g with truffle chips for just £10.00.
Fresh Cauliflower Carpaccio is available with Lobster Tacos for £40.00.
Australian Chateaubriand goes for £22.00/ 100g while Irish Chateaubriand for just £14.00/ 100g – yup, that’s right.
And a slew of delectable sides such as beer-battered onion fingers and cheddar and truffle french fries. It’s perfect for us!

8. Hawksmoor
Once you’ve tried Hawksmoor, you’ll never go back.
The area is bordered with hardwood flooring and stone beams, and the entire space is bathed in a golden glow.
The staff will give you an encyclopaedic knowledge of the restaurant’s cuts, and the cuisine is, well, fantastic.
English beef from local farms is fired just long enough for the exterior to become crusty while the inside remains pink.
And it’s served with side orders that could be a meal in and of themselves: fatty bone marrow, wide-cut hardwood bacon, and milky sauces for dipping beef-dripping potato chips.
Everything from the creamy, sweet spinach to the flawlessly cooked T-Bone is of the greatest quality and will not disappoint.
Even better, the drinks on offer are among the tastiest we’ve had in the city. And believe us, we’ve tried everything.
Set in a chirpy wood-and-leather-clad basement with an enticing dressed-down vibe.
You may choose whether or not to split the mouth-watering steaks from the range of ‘thiccc’ cuts supplied by the weight – don’t expect less than half a kilo. Some of the finest beef in town, and it’s really tender.
Starters and desserts are equally delicious — mussels with white port and onion and sticky caramel sundae.
While prices are high, the large amounts make three courses impossible.
Its Seven Dials branch, just like its beefy brethren in Borough, Guildhall, and Spitalfields, prioritises massive slabs of European beef above everything else.
Their new location at Canary Wharf, which is on water and has a magnificent bar, is absolutely worth a try.

9. Temper London
The expansive Temper empire changes its dishes depending on where you go, but the goal is always the same: a blitzkrieg of robust, out-of-the-box flavours drawn from a diverse range of different cuisines.
It serves a smokehouse-style menu fuelled by a full-animal ideology: premier cuts of beef are used for humongous slabs of steak – Sirloin, rib-eye, rump, porterhouse, T-bone.
While smaller parts are formed into skewers or carnitas for corn tortillas, charred ends are dressed with lemon zest and flavouring to become a peppy bowl of larb salad.
The rest of the cow becomes a specialties menu item, possibly fatty but flavorful bits of sirloin tip served on flatbread with a side of kimchi Bernaise.
Booths and individual tables contribute to an almost secretive feel.
Temper Rivals Other Steak Restaurants In London
Temper’s normal concentration on roasted meats and tortillas grows to include revolutionary Michigan-style pizzas at their Covent Garden location: imagine a grandmother slice souped up a million times.
Temper’s absolutely unequalled desserts persist, as do their superb tacos: from the former, the Cheeseburger and the al pastor are unrivalled.
The skillet biscuit with Fior de mocha frozen yoghurt and the Bananarama drama is worth reserving a reservation just for themselves.
The steak is well seasoned and has just the proper amount of gnarl and yielding after being grilled on their audaciously flaming set-up in the middle of the chophouse.
Their 90-day matured steak (we chose the sirloin) complements everything else they do. The vegetable funk ensures that each mouthful is sophisticated and bold without the need for anything else…
However, the chimichurri and jalapeno mayonnaise on the side are very much liked.

10. Smith & Wollensky
According to history, this was the first overseas outlet of an American steakhouse formed in 1977 by randomly selecting two names from the New York phone book.
This big art deco-style location, nestled away behind the Strand, is full of homesick US expatriates who appreciate the massive portions that make every day seem like Thanksgiving.
S&W wants you to enjoy the greatest steak dining experience imaginable, from the art deco décor to the flavouring of its sides to the taste of the wine.
To begin, there’s half pea soup with sausage, prawn cocktail, and salads that are little more than a vehicle for blue cheese and ham.
USDA Prime steak, dry-aged on-site for 28 days, is the star attraction, with prices starting at £70 for a 500g Kansas-cut tendon sirloin.
One of London’s Most Classic Steak Restaurants
It hits hard, especially bigger pieces like cote de boeuf, which are corn-fed, smaller, and juicier.
If you get the opportunity to sample their Wagyu, do so: anytime it occurs, it’s worth tasting what is literally butter on your tongue.
The variety of Irish steaks is much cheaper, and sides of scooped vegetables, creamed salad, and truffled mac’n’cheese are just so rich you won’t need dessert.
A pre-theatre meal offers ribeye sashimi followed by a 250g Scottish Angus ribeye and chips for £34, or claim you’re below 12 and get the two-course children’s menu for £12.50.
If you can, stay for a Bruce Bogtrotter-worthy slice of chocolate cake the diameter of most heads, prepared to be enjoyed by up to four people.

12. Gaucho
Nothing screams “scrumptious steak” like a “grandiose history,” and Gaucho London has both.
If you start a debate about the top chop houses in London, Gaucho will almost certainly come up.
This high-end business, whose moniker literally means ‘courageous and competent horseman’. It’s the authentic flavour of Argentina, known for its superb steak and wine pairing.
This is one city treasure created to genuinely wow whoever isn’t footing the bill at your table, located in a former Spanish Consulate and with a clear adherence to its Argentinian flair.

13. Le Relais De Venise L’Entrecote
When there’s only one item on the menu, you know it’s going to be delicious.
Of course, the deal at Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecote involves more than just the main meal.
You’ll start with a refreshing nut salad with a balsamic dressing.
In an era of increasingly more intricate and ingredient-laden salads, the minimalism of crunchy, flavourful green leaves with a wonderfully good vinaigrette. And the crunch of the nuts is appealing.
The salad is followed by cheese (of course) and exquisite, baked pastries for dessert.
If the steak appears to be on the small side, don’t worry: the steakhouse serves half your steak first and then the second half when you’re finished. So you don’t have to eat cold meat closer to the end of your meal.
Time for Wine
Let’s not forget about the wine – after all, the restaurant was founded in 1959 by a winemaker.
There is a short and entirely French wine selection to pick from, and each wine is offered in several glass sizes, a half or a whole bottle.
The salad, steak, and potato chips are all set at £24, so even with dessert and a huge glass of wine, you’re still only looking at around £40 per person.
Serving a full-course steak meal at this price makes Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte one of the best steak restaurants in London.

With its well-decorated and well-aged style, the elegant location of the Russian-owned steakhouse company brings Manhattan to London.
There’s no denying the target demographic for this posh steak micro chain decked out in dark wood and brown leatherette.
But even if you don’t go to work dressed as Jacob Rees-Mogg or John Bercow, Goodman is a name to remember.
There are locations in Canary Wharf, Mayfair, and the City.
For steak served with a side of steak. Outstanding grass-fed steak from both sides of the Ocean.
Before ordering a 400g Lake District Agriculturalists grass-fed steak or a USDA 150-day Beef sirloin with dressings and sides, explore the platter of raw cuts; additionally, check the blackboard for the ‘cuts of the day.’
The beef is matured on-site before being roasted on a barbecue grill and rested; there’s also a Scottish vegetarian diet fillet and Bison sirloin and T-bone.
If the costs make you shudder, take solace in the fact that dressing is included.
If you have a great deal of money to burn, specialist cuts are also written on the blackboard. The wine selection is adorned with the most prestigious chateaux of Dordogne and Domaniales of Bourgogne.
Also, it sounds like a bad dream for professionals dining on bank balance accounts, but the reality is far more hospitable.
If you can’t afford steak, try the £20 hamburger: Goodman owner Misha Zelman is also the man behind Burger & Lobster.
With multiple locations, incredible ambiance, and a huge selection of wine, Goodman is definitely one of the best steak restaurants in London.

Thick, meaty short-rib cutlets topped with spicy kimchi mayo. Succulent scampi served with a tartare-spiked aioli. Slivers of raw grey flounder with a lemon zing, similar to ceviche.

17. Omnino
Omnino is probably the finest steakhouse you’ve never heard of.
In 2014, a husband-and-wife pair from Sao Paulo, both formerly at Gaucho, founded it near Leadenhall Market.
Omnino has the same source as Hawksmoor and Goodman, which speaks much about how seriously the restaurant treats its steak.
The décor is a dark, manly contrast of weighty-chestnut flooring, golden chandeliers, intense-red banquettes, smoke-grey walls, and black metropolitan wall tiles.
Make it as the Argentinians for a southern Tropic “churrascaria” spin on your sirloin.
The Menu
Choose a choice coated in one of Omnino’s delectable curries for an aromatic experience at this sophisticated compact dining area.
The Set Menu is also great value: £30 gives you a drink, an appetiser, two steak entrees with sides, a dessert, wine or coffee, and cheese.
Whereas Hawksmoor charges £33 for a 400g rib-eye and £32 for a 250g fillet, Omnino charges £38.95 for a starter, appetisers, and a dozen outstanding meats.
This affordability makes Omnino one of the best steak restaurants in London. And you’d be surprised to know that it is also considered one of the best romantic steak restaurants in London.

17. The Guinea Grill
Externally, Guinea Grill appears to be just another Mayfair pub.
Does it seem out of place in the context?
Wait till you visit the pub’s classic Grill area, select a white-clothed table, and have a Guinea Grill steak.
Then you’ll realize a less extravagant greeting would be an insult to this cuisine.
A vintage ambiance heightened by appetisers of fried in butter kidneys on toast and shrimp cocktail.
Following that come prize-winning pies, but everyone is here for the marinated British steak, which includes chateaubriand and tenderloin, côte de boeuf, and sirloin.
All are served by waistcoat-clad servers who practise the fading art of silver service, making Guinea one of the fancy steak restaurants in London.

Sagardi, a Spanish brand, specialises in txuletón, which is meat cut from animals at least half a decade old and heavily seasoned with pink salt before being roasted over blazing wood.
There’s also the best Spanish food (pork rolls, pan con tomate) on the menu.

And with a totally customisable experience and lots of Halal alternatives, it’s difficult not to fall in love with Steak & Co.
They feature a lunch special with steak, fries, lettuce, chimichurri sauce, aioli, and peppery sea salt for £10.50.

However, the best thing about this eatery is that it lets you take complete control. Which is why it is often Brits’ first call for superb steak at a reasonable price as well as one of the best steak restaurants in London.
Consider it a Nandos for sirloin.
